Crazy North: When did you start playing football? Why football?
Tomi: I don’t know actually, heh, probably because my dad and brother played too and it was very fun to play football.
Crazy North: What are your hometown and what football club is situated there?
Timo: My hometown is Hollola its very near Lahti where is the local team called FC Lahti.
Crazy North: Is football for you only the job or it is something more?
Tomi: Football is my only job for now.
Crazy North: Can you tell us about your football career. Where did you like most?
Tomi: Well hmm :) I played for team called FC Reipas which is like youth team of FC Lahti and from there I went to Chelsea academy, when I was 16 and spend there two years and after that I came back to play FC Kooteepee in Finnish league for one season and after that moment I went to Germany, but I was there only 5 months and didn’t like there much and in the summer I came to Levadia :D
Crazy North: How many months you trained in Chelsea Academy, why you came back to Finland?
Tomi: I was there 2 years and came back to Finland, because my contract ended and I wanted to play man games and not be there and sit on the bench for reserve team or play again in youth team games. Two years were excellent experience for me and England is definitely good place where i want to play I love this country.
Crazy North: Can you say some words about Levadia… (What is the atmosphere in team? Who helped you to situate in club, town for the first time? With which Levadia players you talk more? Do you understand Estonian and do you mostly talk on English? How long you stay in Levadia for? What are your plans for the nearest future?)
Tomi: When I came here it was the second coach Marko Kristal, who helped me to come here and helped with many things. The atmosphere in the club is nice. Although, many speak Russian and not many speak Estonian. All get along well and there is no problems and for me. It’s big help that all the coaches speak Finnish. I talk mostly with the Estonian players, because they mostly all know English or Finnish, but I would like to learn Russian too. I understand Estonian pretty well, because it is quite similar to Finnish and I can speak little bit Estonian, too. It is not so difficult. I have contract for two years and I enjoy playing here. We will see what happens in future, and in near future I want to win championship again with Levadia and perform well in Europe :)
Crazy North: Is the level of Estonian Championship better, than Finnish? Or what can you say about it. Do you feel the importance/intension of derby matches, such as versus Kalju, Flora?
Tomi: I think overall the level in Finnish league is little bit better and football is more important there, but teams like us (Levadia) we can play very well in Finnish league. For example, there is not many teams who are any better than us. I think we have very good team, and flora and kalju could also play there well. I feel the importance of those matches, yes and I like to play in them to show that Levadia is the best team in Tallinn its nice feeling when we win those games and of course for the fans too to show that they are the fans of the best team in Estonia.
Crazy North: What was the most important, interesting match for you in Levadia what you keep in mind? Why this match?
Tomi: Definitely the Galatasaray away and home it is for every player a dream to play these matches. And in Estonian league the games against flora were interesting. I like these games :)
Crazy North: Who is your Finnish football idol? Foreign? If yes, do you want to be like he?
Tomi: My Finnish football idol is Jari Litmanen who we call Kuningas (the king) in Finland and I would looove to be like him, he has won so much trophies. And foreign idols are Maradona and Ronaldinho.
Crazy North: What is your favorite club?
Tomi: Barcelona/Chelsea
Crazy North: Do you like living in Tallinn, Estonia?
Tomi: Yes, I like it very much nice city specially the old town :)
Crazy North: What are your favorite places in Tallinn?
Tomi: Old town and couple of nice nightclubs.
Crazy North: How often do you visit Finland?
Tomi: I visit when I can - like every 2 weeks almost.
Crazy North: How do you spend your spare time? What are your hobbies?
Tomi: Mostly I spend it in Finland, because its so fast to go from here to my home. I have a lot of hobbies: music, movies, fishing and I can say football too, because I play football always everywhere hah.
